The battle of Iwo Jima, between the United States and Imperial Japan, during World War II, is seen through the eyes of the Americans, in Flags of our Fathers, and from the Japanese point of view, in Letters from Iwo Jima, which is nominee for Oscar prizes. One director, 2 point of views. This film is entirely Japanese, except for Clint Eastwood. Language, actors, screenplay, everything.
And it is perfect this way.
